![]() ![]() Christian Blochinger (Sparta, NJ) - Drums, Percussion, Vocals Born in New York City and relocated to NJ as a wee lad, Christian was brought up on classic Rock and Jam bands. After graduating college in Florida, he moved back North to realize he wanted to "Go West". So he did - relocating to Colorado in 1994. Founder and leader of Potcheen, Christian has performed with thousands of musicians across the country in Rock, Jam, Country and Blues projects. Christian lays down the grooves and beats for Potcheen on kit drums and percussion, writing songs and performing lead vocals. ![]() Laura Quam (Memphis, TN) Violin, Vocals This red-haired lass will soothe your soul with some of the finest fiddling this side of the Mississippi! With years of classical training and arrangement experience, Laura has traded the violin for a fiddle and become a pirate! ![]() Melissa Ivey (Denver, CO) An amazing performer who won "Best-Singer/Songwriter" in the Westword Music showcase (2005-2006), she has toured the country playing acoustic and electric guitar, cello and stand-up bass. Armed with a powerfully beautiful singing style - from pop to punk to pirate - she is the newest member of Potcheen. ![]() Manuel Nunez (New Orleans, LA) Bass, Bazouki, Vocals Manuel (MAN-YOU-EL) cut his teeth playing in rock and metal bands in the Big Easy where he grew up. Eventually changing his musical direction to Celtic, Manuel moved to Colorado where he was approached at the Colorado Irish Festival by Christian, who was awestruck by the fastest fingers on a Bazouki he'd ever seen. Manuel is a talented vocalist and songwriter, and has two original songs on Steel Blue Sea. ![]() Ryan Waller (Atlanta,GA) Bass, Vocals Ryan, the son of an military officer, traveled the 7 seas, diving into every musical genre he could find. Through college and on to Colorado, he played in punk and rock bands and came across Potcheen when they played a show together at a Denver metal bar. He forged a friendship with Christian, who tried incessantly to have him join his crew. It took 5 years before Ryan came on board, but now he adds seriously fat bass lines, pirate energy and tremendous vocal talent to Potcheen! ![]() Guest Muscian: Neil Zimmerman (Highlands Ranch, CO) A longtime friend who graciously steps in and mans the sails whenever a pirate goes AWOL. He rips on guitar like nobody's business and is a helluva singer to boot! Neil is 1/2 of Pairadeux, one of Denver's best acoustic/electric duos! |
